Romeinse UMBO schild bollen

Umbo's 1,5 mm ijzerplaat, handgesmeed Umbo's samengestelde  Constructie 2,5 mm gelaste ijzeren bol Zo, voor Archeon een heleboel nieuwe schild bollen. De zware versie zal voor de dagelijkse gevechts demos zijn denk ik. De historische versies zijn een stuk dunner natuurlijk. De Umbo's worden met klinknagels of omgebogen spijkers vastgezet op de houten schilden. Die waren van gelamineerd hout, eigenlijk triplex dus. Voor zover bekend is er maar 1 echt historisch Romeins schild (Scutum) bekend dat nu nog bestaat. Maar dan wél eentje mét de beschildering er nog op zelfs.

Uruk-Hai Ork Armour

 A while ago I made this armour for a soldier. It's 1,5 mild stee and leather. Patina was done with heat & oil, and I burned it to a nice, crisp layer. Also rust proof by the way...

Sponton speerpunt

  Etched steel Spontoon for the Dutch Army. My contribution was the etch work. I created a mask from vinyl, by cutting a svg drawing with the Brother Scanncut. The crown above our kings "WA" monogram was created by the use of UV sensitive dry-film, normally used for creating electronic pcb's. The steel was etched in ferrochloric acid for 30 minutes. Next, the spontoon will go to the gold smith, who will gild the details, and then it will go back to the smith for blueing the steel.
